Historical society raising funds

Historical society raising funds

The Kona Historical Society is celebrating the holiday season in a number of ways.

Earlier this month, KHS staff and volunteers decorated a Christmas tree with a special exhibit of historic photos on ranching in Kona for the Mauna Lani Charity Trees event. Mauna Lani Bay Hotel will be awarding prizes to the organizations whose trees, which are displayed in the hotel’s lobby, receive the highest number of votes from the public.

Keeping with the holiday theme, the organization now has available on it online store, store.konahistorical.org, stocking stuffer gift certificates. The gift certificates range from Portuguese sweet bread to “the gift of membership.” The society also has 100 percent Kona coffee holiday gift baskets available.

As a nonprofit 501(c)3, Kona Historical Society’s proceeds during the holidays directly support ongoing preservation projects and educational programs throughout the year.
